Mu Luxembourg: a beautiful plant-forward surprise overlooking Luxembourg
Mu Luxembourg at a glance
I already knew Mu Luxembourg, but mainly for its view, which is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful in Luxembourg. Everything here invites you to slow down, enjoy this bright and elegant cocoon, and take in the stunning panorama over the city.
What interested me the most here, however, was not only the view. It was the place given to plant-based cuisine.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover several vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, with a genuine desire to work with seasonal ingredients. These are not dishes added simply to tick a box, but thoughtful, well-balanced and generous plates.
A more thoughtful plant-based menu than expected
Among the dishes I tried, the vegan tartare was my real favorite. Made with beetroot and lentils, it brought freshness, texture and a beautiful sense of generosity. It is exactly the kind of plant-based dish I would love to see more often: easy to understand, well executed, and thoughtful enough to make a lasting impression.
I also enjoyed the whole Breton artichoke served with an Espelette pepper vinaigrette. A simple and product-focused dish, elevated by just enough sharpness and character to keep it interesting.
The carrot velouté with orange and toasted almonds leaned more towards softness, with a pairing that felt classic yet comforting and well balanced.
The grilled white asparagus à la flamande also confirmed this desire to place seasonal vegetables at the heart of the plate.
For dessert, the plant-based strawberry and Madagascar vanilla entremets ended the meal on a light, fresh and indulgent note. A welcome vegan dessert, especially in a setting where this kind of option is still too rare.

Best Veggie Tables
Why does Mu Luxembourg deserve its place on Best Veggie Tables?
Because Mu Luxembourg shows that a hotel restaurant can offer genuine vegetarian and vegan choices without treating them as a secondary option.
The cuisine remains accessible and elegant, with real attention given to seasonality and pleasure. It is not a fully plant-based restaurant, but it is an interesting address in Luxembourg for those looking for a beautiful setting with several genuinely thoughtful vegetarian and vegan options.
