Anona – Paris

I love watching Top Chef: it’s given me the chance to discover the future great chefs of tomorrow. In season 13, I quickly spotted chef Thibaut Spiwack. Not only did he take an ecological approach to the challenges of the show, but he also didn’t hesitate to showcase his plant-based cuisine.
These two hallmarks can be found in his restaurant the Anona. The Anona Our cuisine is not only gastronomic, it’s also ethical and responsible.
It’s no coincidence that the restaurant’s name is inspired by the word Anone: a fruit with gastronomic, medical and pharmaceutical applications.
L’Anona also boasts: 1 green star and 1 star in the Michelin guide since March 2023 and 2 toques in Gaut&Millau.
The chef favors short circuits, local and seasonal products. In addition, the team strives to limit waste, use water wisely and use green electricity. The restaurant’s ethical approach goes even further, since all the furniture was produced in the Ile de France region by independent designers.
I was lucky enough to try out the 5-course discovery menu twice, as well as the wine and food pairing. It was a real surprise! I fell in love with the celery and mushroom ravioli, not to mention the asparagus cooked in a financier. My two experiences at Anona were truly conclusive.
Unfortunately, when I looked at the website, I noticed that the menus had changed a little and the prices had gone up. The 5-course discovery menu is no longer available, which is a real shame.
To sum up : A beautiful address offering vegetarian and vegan menus!
Areas for improvement: I really liked the “discovery” formula, but now I’d have to see if the new formula is as good value for money. I think the price increase is due to the fact that I tested the restaurant when it was not yet starred (a good idea!).
